Witch.
Hysterical.
Too sensitive.
Difficult.
Attention-seeking.
Unstable.
Different centuries. Different institutions. Different words.

For generations, women have described their pain, reported abuse, challenged authority,Β
and questioned what was happening inside their own homes.
And far too often, instead of investigating what they were saying, someoneΒ
investigated what was supposedly wrong with THEM.
Her pain became hysteria.
Her objections became defiance.
Her anger became instability.
Her accurate recollection became a faulty memory.
Her refusal to remain silent became evidence that she was the problem.

Once a woman's credibility becomes the subject of the investigation,Β
the original complaint can disappear.
And this doesn't begin in a doctor's office.
Sometimes it begins in childhood.
A little girl recognizes that something is terribly wrong inside her home.
She speaks.
And instead of addressing what she's witnessed, the adults tell her she's dramatic. Ungrateful. Too sensitive. Imagining things.
She grows into a woman who has spent decades defendingΒ
the accuracy of her own perceptions.
π§πππ§ ππ¦ π’π‘π π’π π§ππ πͺπ’π¨π‘ππ¦ πͺπ ππ₯π πππ₯π π§π’ π‘ππ π.
Not every disagreement is silencing. Not every diagnosis is dismissal.
But when a woman's testimony is rejected because she's been labeled emotional,Β
difficult, or unreliableβwithout seriously examining what she's reportingβ
we have a problem far larger than one unpleasant conversation.
We have a credibility problem.
A power problem.
And a historical pattern that deserves to be dragged into the light.

And calling her difficult does not make her wrong.
The Daughter Wound Projectβ’ exists to examine these patternsβ
from family systems to medicine, institutions, and the larger culture.
Because we cannot begin repairing what we refuse to recognize.
